How did you get started in cycling?
I started because my father was an ex-professional cyclist and all my family was passionate and also my older sister started cycling before me.
2017 results?
Two times world champions (Scratch, team pursuit) and world record in team pursuit, two times European champions (Scratch, team pursuit), a silver European medal in keirin, second place to Italian road championship, fourth place to road European championship and I participated to world elite track championship, the elite World Cup in Los Angeles and to road junior world championship
Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Honestly, I have no idea, I hope to still be in the world of cycling
Favourite athlete?
Peter Sagan for the mood he gave to cycling
If you were not an athlete, what would you be doing?
If I were not an athlete I would concentrate better on school, in particular, I would be painting a lot more. Art is my second greatest passion
Any hobbies?
Art, nail art, fashion and cooking sweets
Favourite music?
Ligabue is my favourite singer. Before a race, I often listen to Macklemore or Evanescence
Favourite book?
I don’t like reading much
Any pre-competition rituals?
Yes, usually I bring me two things with me in every race one is a necklace that my sister gave me and the other is a photo. And before of an important race I often listen “Bring me to life” (Evanescence)
Best movie and tv series?
Tv series – O.C
Movie – I really like titanic
Favourite food while training?
Nuts or dark chocolate
The result you’re most proud of?
Winning the world championship!
Do you have a saying or motto you live by?
Yes, everything comes back
What do you enjoy most about racing?
The difficult moments that I can overcome although I thought I would not do it. Obviously the moment with my teammates
Advise that you have for someone starting out cycling?
Cycling is a very difficult sport, the suffering is more of joys so the advice I would give it would be to not give up and take on all the lessons on life that is able of giving you
What is the most crucial part of your training?
When I’m at the limit but I have to continue. This is what makes you better
